I do not want to say I avoid family gatherings, primarily because I have very little close family to gather:) Will say I am not always comfortable. I am somewhat of a lurker and enjoy watching the fun and conversations going on around. me, which for me is more pleasurable than the feeling of having to carry on witty conversations. I love my husband’s family and watching them interact they are beautiful, but since they are on the other side of the world I do not get to see them often as I would like 🙂 Thank you for the thought provoking post today and for the fun giveaway opportunity.

I don’t avoid family gatherings. I enjoy them. It is the only time we can all really get together, well sort of. We have to Skype in my brother who lives in Canada. Thanks for another great giveaway.

I totally avoid family gatherings, truth be told! I come from a family of females and they can get pretty catty when they’re all together. I figure if I’m not there I can give them something to talk about! I’m always thinking of others 😀
Thanks for the very awesome giveaway!

I never avoid family gatherings & am very pro-active in getting family & friends together. Just had a birthday party on Friday for my mom, aunt & 2 friends. We had a nice turn out & everyone had a great time.

With my immediate family (parents, siblings, nieces, nephews), I love family gatherings. However, with the rest of the family (grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) I do tend to avoid. I have panic attacks when I get into crowded situations and with a really large family (my grandparents had 11 children), gatherings are very crowded.

Great comments! I come from a very small family of only children, all females too. My mother is the only one living so we spend time with her on holidays. Do I avoid getting together? Not at all. As you can guess, they are pretty calm. No hair fires – lol Desi.
